Last Day, Last Post

Well, we made it through the last day of school - also known as the hardest day of Mme Katie's year.  There were tears, warm hugs, and thoughtful cards and gifts.  It has been such a magical year in our classroom.  I've been so amazed by this group of little learners.  It is so difficult to say goodbye to such keen, kind, empathetic and helpful students. Really, this year has been perfect.  It has been my pleasure to spend this time with you all.  Good luck in Grade 1 and enjoy your summer!

Sharks and Monarchs

Today was a very full day in kindergarten.  We made caterpillar and butterfly puppets.

We celebrated a couple of birthdays with minion cupcakes.

We found monarch caterpillars in our garden.

We also measured the paper for our whale shark.  They can be 15 metres long, so we'll need to work on our project in the hallway!

We molded air-dry clay into shark teeth.  Tomorrow we will add wire and turn them into necklaces.

Tabloid Day

Tabloid Day at Bannatyne was cold and wet, but it was fun!  The kids ran from station to station with their older friends.

Outdoor Challenge - Rocks (and Kites)

Since it's finally dry and nice out, we went outside and played with our kites.

We also went outside and read a few beautiful books about rocks and rock art.  We found our own rocks and painted them in the sun.
